FAQs

We're sure there are lots of things you might need to know before taking flight, so here’s a list of our most frequently asked questions. If the answer to your question isn't here, please feel free to drop us a line and we'll do all we can. Please contact us.

     Can I book a trial?

For the first half of term, we do trials for all of the classes that have spaces in them. To book your trial, go to our classes page and choose the class you'd like to book, and follow the links.
How much do the classes cost?

Class prices vary according to the length of the class, but all prices are shown on Kiddiplan. Follow the links for the class you are interested in on our classes page to see the price.
     When are the classes?

All our classes can be found on the classes page. Once you've clicked on the class and venue you'd like, you can see all of the options!
     What should I bring?

Please bring a bottle of water, lots of enthusiam and clothes you can move in (layers are great)!
     What should I wear?

All you need are leggings or tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt that won't end up over your head when you turn upside down! Cover your arms, knees and your tummy. Cotton fabrics are more compatible with silks than shiny lycra. Jewellery and watches need to be taken off and long hair should be tied back to avoid getting tangled on the equipment. You don't need shoes for the activity itself, but trainers are handy in Wimbledon as you may be warming up outside (if the weather allows!)
Additionally, please try to avoid clothes with zips as they damage the equipment and are not comfortable for you when you are on it!
It looks hard... do you have to be strong?

you don’t need any strength or flexibility to start, the whole point of aerial is to help you build these things - remember, everyone started somewhere.
How many people are in a class?

The class sizes vary but whatever the class size, we maintain a strict ratio of students to teachers. We always make sure there are sufficient teachers to give everyone the attention and guidance they need and that there is ample equipment to go round.
     How can I pay?

We're a cash-free company. Or at least we try to be. All our bookings are made online and paid for in advance. We accept payment on the door in our Union Street venue only. All other venues require advance booking and payment online.

We use a booking system called Kiddiplan, which you can find through following the links on our class page.
What equipment is used in the classes?

Generally the classes are a mixture of trapeze/ hoop and silks/ slings. For more information watch the young flyers video on our website to get a feel of what classes look like.
     When is watching week?

Watching week is the penultimate week of every term. We welcome you to come and watch the last 15 minutes of this class to see what your children have been up to!
Where are the classes and what’s the best way to get there?

We have 4 venues across London. All details and travel info can be found under the locations tab. If that doesn't do it for you, we suggest checking out Google Maps or TFL's journey planner for up to the minute travel advice.
     Is there parking available?

Union Street: As you might imagine, parking around central London is limited. All of our central London studios are right next to tube stations, so we would suggest using public transport to get here. Or you could hop on a bike – there's a Boris bike docking station near all three studios.

Battersea and Wimbledon: There are some roads very near both The Wilditch Centre and St Mark's Hall with no parking restrictions at all. After 7pm there is free parking in the roads immediately around The Wilditch Centre. But please check the signs for more info.

Peckham:......
How long do the classes go on for?

Class lengths depend on the size and age of the class. Find the class you'd like to come to on the classes page and follow the links to see the length.
Am I allowed to bring food and drink to the classes?

Classes can be very tiring, so some water or energy snacks can be a good idea. But please keep all foodstuffs well away from the training area. No-one wants to climb on sticky equipment...
Is there anywhere I can change?

We have changing rooms available in Union Street and Peckham.

In Battersea and Wimbledon we have spacious toilet facilities and other rooms where you can get changed. There are no dedicated changing rooms.
     Can I watch my children?

We appriciate that you'd like to see what they are getting up to in class, but we find that when parents watch children get distracted. It is important that we can hold their attention for safety.

We do; however, have a lesson every term devoted to watching! During the last 15 minutes of the panultimate lesson we welcome you to come and see what they've been up to!
My child has an injury - is this a problem?

If they've got injuries to their back, neck, shoulders or wrists, aerial activities are probably not a good idea. If you're not sure, please contact us and we'll advise you as best as we can.
I want to give it a go! Do you offer adult classes?

We certainly do! Check out our adult classes on our main website.
I want to book a party, can I have food/cake?

Birthday cake and aerial equipment don’t get on that well, so we don’t offer any catering facilities at all.
But we can give you suggestions of local cafes at all our venues who could host you afterwards.

I've booked a party, what happens if someone can't come?

Unfortunately we aren't able to refund any places should someone drop out for any reason.
Can I add more participants to my party?

We can add more party goers but they must be confirmed and paid for no later than 2 weeks before the date of your booking. We cannot guarantee space for extra participants after that time!
     Can I reschedule my party?

As we are often booked up several months in advance, rescheduling is at Flying Fantastic's discretion and may not be possible. A fee may be applicable.
Which venues have the best availability for parties?

We have full access to our Union Street and Peckham venues so availability tends to be pretty good. We share Wimbledon with a number of other groups so are much more limited in when we can book.
